MileMark

Help & FAQ

Quick answers. For anything else, use Gumroad (see the last question).

Where is my data stored?

Only on this device, in your browser's storage. There is no account and no server, and your data never leaves your phone unless you save a backup file yourself. Receipt photos stay on the device too.

Can I scan my odometer?

Yes. Tap Scan odometer next to any mileage box, take a photo of the gauge, and confirm the number. The photo is read on your phone and never uploaded.

How do I back up?

On the main screen, tap Back up. It saves one file with all your vehicles, service log, interval settings and receipt photos. Keep it somewhere safe, like iCloud Drive, Google Drive or your computer. MileMark reminds you about once a month.

To restore, tap Restore backup and pick that file. It replaces what's on the device, and your license on the device is kept.

I'm moving to a new phone

  1. On the old phone, tap Back up and save the file where the new phone can reach it (cloud drive, or send it to yourself).
  2. On the new phone, open MileMark and tap Restore backup.
  3. If you have Pro, tap Unlock Pro and paste your license key again.

iPhone: add it to your Home Screen

In Safari, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen. MileMark then opens like an app and can show notifications, and Safari is much less likely to clear its storage. Keep a backup anyway.

How does the mileage estimate work?

You enter your odometer once. MileMark assumes about 37 miles a day (roughly 13,500 a year) and adds that up each day. When you tap Correct it or log a service at a real odometer reading, it learns your actual pace from your readings. If you set your own miles per day in the vehicle settings, it keeps your number. Check the real odometer now and then. It's an estimate.

Can I change an interval or add my own service?

Yes. Tap Edit interval under any service to set your own miles and/or months (your tire shop's 6,000-mile rotation, for example). Use factory interval puts it back. Tap + Custom service to add anything else, like wiper blades or a battery check.

Where do the schedules come from?

Intervals come from the manufacturer's official owner's manual or maintenance guide for your model year, with the manual and page cited. Any value not confirmed in the manual says "check owner's manual". Your owner's manual and your car's maintenance reminder are the authority.

How do I activate MileMark?

MileMark is $9, one time, with no subscription. Buy it on Gumroad. Your receipt includes a license key. Open MileMark, paste the key and tap Activate. The key is checked with Gumroad once, and after that the app works offline on this device. On a new phone or browser, paste the same key again. Backup and restore are always available, even before you activate.

How do I get support or a refund?

All support and refund requests go through Gumroad. Open your MileMark purchase on Gumroad and message us there.
